by Interwoven Shared Community Spaces

The Living Factory

Imagine living in a neighbourhood where you can learn from your neighbours, work in your own community, produce your own product, create surplus and income, as well as invest back to your community's well-being through your daily routine. It is a utopia where co-living and co-working are tied to each other.

This thesis examines a local sharing culture by interweaving shared community spaces into living and working. The idea of textile production as spectacle and reintroducing crafts in Tradeston. In a way of working on amazing sharing and collaborative initiatives.

The Living Factory is a combination of housing, factory, trading and learning centre provides the local community with jobs opportunities. Through the process of manufacturing as well as commercial activities, create a new individual identity for the more sharable and collective inhabiting space in Tradeston.
