This project requires us to sketch and document the physical and intangible qualities of the building as well as the immediate context of the site. It is compulsary for us to sketch the plans, sections and elevations of the building that the group has measured, as an expression of the students' understanding of the building. 

 

The sketches are to comprise at least 2 each of these categories:

 

1. The Genius Loci

2. Poetic Quality 

3.Cultural Attributes

4. Technical/Construction details

 

Objectives:

 

The objectives of this project is to train students to be observnt to their surrounding.

To instill the culture of documenting as part of the learning process in architectural education.

To also enhance the students graphic communication skilld in capturing important details and the spirit of the place.

 

Learning Outcomes:

 

Identify architectural historic structure.

Capture the tangible and intangible essenc that is contained within the architecture realm.

 

Tasks: 

 

We are to produce 10 Sketches that gives a strong idea of the place that they have carried out the Measured Drawing exersice based on categories specified above. We are allowed to explore with any media to express our observations. We are to also add caption for each piece, annotating vital information about what is drawn.
